Extra Coarse |
Suitable for rapid reduction of the
tooth structure, removal of old
fillings, cutting fixed
restorations and crowns. |
Coarse |
Used for the same purpose as extra
coarse, but it cuts slightly less
rapidly. Finishing the procedure
with a fine or extra fine bur is
still necessary. |
Medium Coarse |
Medium coarse diamonds are used most
often. They are used for the final
touch, except when smooth surface
and margins are wanted. |
Fine |
Used for finishing the tooth surface
and initial trimming of the
composite. The speed should not
exceed 20000/min. |
Extra Fine |
Diamond instruments with extra fine
grit used in the same instances as
instruments with fine grit.
Extra fine burs are especially
useful for finishing micro filed
composite. |
