GRIT INDICATIONS FOR USE

EXTRA  COARSE

Suitable for rapid reduction of the tooth structure, removal of the old fillings and cutting fixed restorations and crowns.

COARSE

Used for the same purpose as extra coarse but it cuts slightly less rapidly.  Finishing the procedure with a fine or extra fine bur is still necessary.

MEDIUM COARSE

Diamond instruments with a medium course are used most often.  Medium coarse diamonds are used for the final touch, except when smooth surface and margins are wanted.

FINE

Used for finishing the tooth surface and initial trimming of the composite. The speed should not exceed 20000/min.

EXTRA FINE

Diamond instruments with extra fine grit used in the same instances as instruments with fine grit; cause the surface to be smoother. Extra fine burs are especially useful for finishing micro filled composite.

"COOL" DENTAL DIAMOND BURS

Packaged 10 pieces per pack

PAIN REDUCTION.  Burs have channels that are optimally designed to spray water, which decreases heat and reduces the chance of pulp damage.

RAPID HEAT DISSIPATION. The opposite spiral creates a double spray "TURBO" action.  Rotational forces recover the water from the surface and convey it to a working point along the grooves.

This allows for longer contact of the cooling spray with the instrument and more efficient thermal exchange.  The result is less tooth trauma.

AUTOMATIC REMOVAL OF DEBRIS.  The opposite spiral channels create a "TURBO" flow of cooling, lubricating spray that removes debris and prevents clogging.

SHARPER EDGE. "COOL" burs have a sharper edge, in comparison to traditional burs and therefore have double the depth of penetration for the same period of time.
